Obviously I actively avoid places where smokers are told to congregate, but it’s not possible for me to avoid passing them on the street when they’re standing outside my subway station or wherever. If they always stayed in their own specifically designated locations while smoking, it wouldn’t be a problem, but they don’t.
And I don’t use nail polish or any other noxious products, for the same reason: I believe that personal choices should be just that - personal. No one should have the right to infringe on the health and well-being of others without good reason, and cosmetics and a self-chosen nicotine addiction are certainly not good reasons.
