Haha. The difference is that you can’t really hold in your farts - at least, not without endangering your health after a certain point - whereas it’s totally up to you whether you want to continue to allow yourself to smoke, and you’re not endangering your health by making the decision not to smoke.

I just don’t understand why people argue for the right to mess up their own bodies, the environment, and the health of people around them. What could possibly be redeeming about that?
